I need new brakes for the 2004 F-250 4x4 and would like to upgrade calipers and rotors. Has anyone done this and what brand did you go with? How much did it cost?

Good christ! I have a 2000 4x4 250 crew cab w 101,000 some miles, just changed the pads at 65K. Why the wear?
I have 100,000 miles with a lot of stop and go traffic on them :D

You know to go see Clyde at Redline. He'll hook you up with the big pimp daddy brakes. Brembo and Bear(SP?) both make larger kits and I think SBC(sp?) also makes a set. Either way you'll see a big improvement, but it's important to make sure the brakes are blead properly or the new stopping power will be lost.

Are you saying you had your original pads on for 65k miles???

Yes. Coulda went another 15 or 20, but had the wheels off and the new pads in hand, so I went ahead and put the new pads on.
Wow I have an 06 F250 4x4 with 20k miles.
I was thinking I was gonna have to get them done at 30k. I had no clue they last that long. I went to Ford to have my alignment done today. I went to buy a new air filter and they said its good to 100k. I cant believe that!..No wonder they are $100. The fuel filter need replaced at 20 though.

I forgot about Clyde, I was thinking he only does performance parts. Thanks Chris.

I put some Stainless Steel Brake front calipers on my Tahoe and it made a huge difference. Uses the same pad as a C5 Corvette, so they are easy to service later on. They make some hefty 3-piston calipers that fit on stock 17" wheels(that's what I have), and larger diameter rotors and 4-piston calipers for larger diameter wheels. Quite a bit less expensive than brembo, for example. My calipers installed cost about $1,000.
