Hey big W, Fry's is the hot ticket. U can get good deals on toshiba's or just about anything you want. I bought my sons toshiba satellite for 450. They have deals all the time. Shoot me a pm and let me know what you are looking to spend and I will keep an eye out and call you if something pops up at fry's;)

You can also try places like Office depot on the weekends. The like to discount the shit out of the last model to make way for the new ones.

I work at a laptop service center, and I recommend that you stay away from buying any extended warrranty that's not from the manufacture. Don't buy the Fry's warranty, it is the biggest scam I have ever seen. We are a premier service provider for Toshiba and you can get a much better warranty directly from the manufacture than you can through any retail store. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.

Saw a couple good deals in the Sunday paper add from Office depot.
Nice 17" HP for $500 after rebate, decent specs but it will be heavy.
Cheaper Toshiba for $400 after rebate, but I would recommend upgrading the ram to use Vista.
The toshiba for $350 in the ad is crap, Vista will barely work with that computer.
If not I will probably have a few used ones for sale next week.

Stay away from vista period for right now until they come out with all of the patches to get it to work right with other applications... Did a vista roll out for my company and had to undo it all and put them back to XP.... Microsoft is no help right now either they are doing a dance right now to get this thing working right.....
