View Full Version : 460 jus getn it's shoe and rideplate results

I got a phone call from 460 yesterday afternoon from the lake. He said that he finally gps'd his new hardware and he added another 4 mph. He installed a 2* tapered shoe and a rideplate. We are going to try a 2* backcut in a few weeks to see if we can get a few more out of it.
So a shoe and rideplate DID work well on this hull and DID add more mph! The handling improved alot and so did the cruising speeds and mild porpoise went away.
Big thanks to Tom at jetboatperformance(for the hardware) and Timinator (for milling the shoe) for tyro;)

Wow thats a drastic change there from a 2* taper to a 2* bc. Noy gonna try anything in between?

Its his boat and Im going to let him decide what to try. His boat runs good and pulls hard. He isnt a speed freak like the rest of us:D That boat has been running flawless for 3 years and he has made very good progress. The nice thing is that it has NEVER been to a shop;) We have tested alot of the backyard stuff and he has had great results. His goal was 75 and he is there. He said that he is going to remove the 4* wedge and see what she runs next before removing any shoe.

Wow, that's a pretty long tow line. He couldn't have found a boat that was closer to tow his broke down oil slick machine in??? As usual 0 RPM's on the tach... :D :D :D

Can you blame the guy? I would wanna be far away too, bad enough cleaning water spots, can't imagine what toxic substances 460's boat is leaving in the water. :D

I suppose up is a relative term. It's still 47' from capacity, up about a foot from a couple weeks ago, down about a foot from June 1st, at least according to the SRP daily water reports.

compaired to a month ago its up. The ramp was a 8' cliff. Not that I would ever use it. I like Bartlett when its low but not when I need to lock em and wave a towstrap. It is low. Not really a great place for a prop. Unless you know the low spots or should I say high points:D
