I have read so many treads about batteries my headÂ’s going to explode. I think I have decided to get two Odyssey 2150s. I tried calling www.odysseybatteries.com but they are closed. After several searches on Google IÂ’ve noticed the price to hover around 250 to 300 bucks. What have you guys paid? Any other places carry the 2150s? I live in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. IÂ’d rather pick up then pay for shipping.
I do have a couple more questions for those who have Odysseys. Can I use the Odysseys to start the boat and power the stereo, or should I get a dedicated starting battery, like an Optima?
Example 1: Switch #1-two Odyssey in Parallel, Switch #2-one blue Optima.
Example 2: Switch #1-one Odyssey, Switch #2-one Odyssey.
Example 3: No switch-two Odyssey in Parallel.
One last thing. Should I scrap the whole Odyssey thing and buy two SamsClub 6 Volts and run them in series.
Example 4: Switch #1-two SamsClub 6 Volts in series, Switch #2-one blue Optima. (seems the cheapest) DonÂ’t know if I should start the motor with that. Is it safe?
Thanks in advance. BSV

I was gonna post a thread on the Odyssey's also. I'm trying to decide whether to use them or the Optima's...Just curious what everyone's thoughts are...

Dealer Cost is about $300.00 on a 2150. Most of my dealers are getting close to $400.00 on them. They do have more cold cranking amps and more reserve minutes than the Optimas.

I have (5) batteries in my boat. I have a total of (4) blue tops and one centennial. I have 3 batteries hooked up to the stereo and the 4th dedicated for starting. The 5th (centennial) is not hooked up to anything, just sitting in a battery box so if I forget to turn the perko off i can throw that in the system and away we go.

I can't believe the play time I get with the 2150 I have. I'm very happy with it.

I'm amazed with the playing time I get with my 2150's also. I'm running two of them to power my system. I've never killed them yet.
Anybody that is looking for Odyssey batteries and are around the Riverside area, my brother in laws shop is a dealer for them.
