Is it me or what?
I'm looking for a used boat, 21' open bow jet. Everythig I find is top dollar! I check out the NADA price and its not even close. Maybe it's the time of year. Whats your opinion? anyone!

What's your idea of top dollar? 21' Jets bring top dollar. If your looking for a deal....look at 16-19' jet:D :D :D ($10K differents in price)

NADA usually doesn't mean squat. When I bought my boat and went to get it insured they went by NADA values which was about half of what I paid. I showed the underwriter ads for boats of my model and year and what they were selling for to get them to insure for my stated value.

Open bow jets are hard to find under 15k that are in decent shape.I paid $7,500 for mine but then put another 7 into it.

I wanted a closed bow since we boat at havasu and the river. Our 20.5Carrera has a very dry ride and a high freeboard but we've taken water over the bow at havi more than once. An open bow would have taken on lots of water. I feel much safer with the hard deck.

There are good deals out there.Might as well find a boat you like and low ball offer it.You aint got nothing to lose.Alot of them are jets it seems like.
I bought my eliminator in 02 for 16k. 21ft open bow 350/alpha in very good shape.I saw it in the trader start out at 21k then to 19k then i offered 15 but settled on 16k.boat is a 93
IMO better off to find one with an i/o vs a jet top speed on mine is faster than the 454s equal to the 502s maybe a tad more but fuel useage is half

I bought my 88 Commander from my cousin for $4,500.00. I've put about another $4,000.00 into the engine, i.e. new carb, intake manifold, electronic ignition, hoses, ss braided lines and now ALL of the wood is being replaced. New bow section, new captains seats, rear bench, decklid and new carpet and upholstery.
When all is said and done it will be close to $12,000 to $13,000. Just a guess though.
But I love the boat.

Have you talked to any of the sellers? They are feeling out the market as well, once you make actual offers different things happen than what the add says.

$21,500 for the boat.......$20,000 to make it look like new.....and $2000 a year to maintain it:D
Or you can buy a new 21 foot open bow for around $55-60K

Kind of got pissed at the first guy with the elim. 207 and it seams to be the same old stuff in the trader. I just keep reminding myself that I have a boat still and I'm in no hurry.

Oh, come on... that's how you cool off! Just pay attention to the asses with wakeboard boats. I agree, with our boats the bow is the weak point...
On point though: you have to shop around. It took me a year and a half to find my first boat. I.E. what I was willing to pay for the condition

I really like the hull and interior layout odf the 207 skier. it has clean gelcoat but like I said the interior is damaged beyond repair or cleaning ( sun damage ). 4500 for new interior, what is the compression on the motor, where has the jet been. the trainer needs new fender and bunk boards and a paint job. ya see, the list is long on this one for $21500. The other guy was right..........$21500.00 for the boat 20k for the restro and 2k for maintenance.
