El Monte RV. Had 4 out of 5 good experiences. They also had better rates than cruise America when we used to rent.

El Monte RV will let you tow. CruiseAmerica will not. EMRV has nice units all the way up to big Class A's. CA has mostly Class C's (van based). They are very rental "feel" stripped down units and dicker stickered to hell with their name. Some are full graphic wrapped.
The basic rate is just that. Watch the charges for the extras such as extra miles, generator time (CA charges by the hr.). It can get spendy quick.

We rented a 40 foot rv last year from a private party. The guy was really cool and the coach was extremly nice. I believe his website was the trejos.com.

Yep, rented on for the Stagecoach Festival out in Indio a couple of months ago...
El Monte RV has the best variety and probably the best price hands down

I did it years ago through Cuise America. They messed up and doubled my milage, 1,400 free. We used 1,300 of it. Had a great time. Az to Colorado in to Utah down to Vegas and back to AZ. 28' Winibago with a 454, 13 miles per gallon. For the price these days and the little bit of milage you get it might be better to stay in a Suite, unless you are in a camping area close to the water or out in quad country.

Got back a week ago from my RV rental vacation. Rented from El Monte a 28ft that had less than 49,000 miles on it. Had absolutely no problems with it. Word is, that El Monte maintains a newer, better maintained fleet than Cruise America. Also, I put about 2500 miles on it visiting Death Valley, Yosemite, Zion, and the North Rim (Grand Canyon). One of the best vacations I've ever done, and the price of rental was worth it.

These are the guys we always used before we bought. RV's are in great condition and they don't charge you for using the generator or shade canopy.

We rented a travel trailer from Cruise America. The trailer was nothing extravagant (sp?) however, it had all the necessities. Bottom line, it did the job and the rate was not too bad.
