Well I think it is official I have the worlds ugliest pump. The previous owner of my boat put a brand new JI pump on the boat just before I bought it. He said the shop could not provide the correct aluminum transom cover to match the angle it needed to be. I bolted on my diverter today and now I think it is just ugly as hell. Does anyone have a transon cover to maybe match up with this thing. The fiberglass does have a angle on it. Check out the pics

And to top it off look where they brought the cable out

I am in Merced (central valley Ca.) between Fresno and Modesto. The fiberglass corners hang about a 1/8 to 1/4 in off the bottom. I just don't like the fiberglass and I know it's not gona hold up (paint or durability) compared to the aluminum. I am gonna patch one of the cable feed holes when I repaint the boat and pull it out the transon cover like its supposed to.
Thanks
Jason

are you sure you need the deep transom adaptor? The pump doesn't appear to be set back that far to need it?
if you want ugly, here's what mine looked like when I got it

pretty damn ugly huh? :D
also, you can see how much of my bowl is still showing with the fiberglass TA. It's a couple of inches further back than yours and I was about 1-1/4" to far to use a standard adaptor.
Here's a pic showing where the forward/reverse cable came through the F/G TA. It looks like you already have a hole and bung there.

and here's what it looks like now

It looks like you need to locate a regular transom adapter. The location for the diverter cable is ok. It will keep the diverter control easier to operate(my cable comes out over the center of the pump and causes added stress to the control fighting the cables tight radius). The standard transom adapter will put your steering cable in closer orientation to the steering arm also.
BTW, nice talking with you today!

Thanks John nice meeting you as well. Everything bolted up great and feels good. Im gonna call Tom tomorrow and order new cables and the rest of what I need. I really want to get a better adapter I don't care for the fiberglass at all.

since it sounds like you're local to NorCal, I can get my hands on a stock TA for you....it's sitting in a garage in Vacaville.
Also, Tom does have some good prices but Chad at http://www.tewco.com (http://www.tewco.com/) is hard to beat on cables....all but steering.

You've got a way to go before you get to the ugliest pump.....

Ok I feel alot better after seeing those pumps. I just hate the fiberglass and you can see the old holes where the other transom adapter was mounted and someone dabbed silicone over them.

Looks like a Dominator transom adaptor. Same as the one on my Advantage.

I think I got you all beat. How about a panther jet with the bowl that has been cut in half and a berk nozzle welded to it to fit a place diverter.Thats right.....A place diverter on a panther jet.

well after looking at it closer I really do not think I need this fiberglass one at all. I can't see anything different or a reason to why they put it on. If anyone has the Berkeley aluminum one please let me know.

Am I wrong or do you not have a Place E pump trim unit mounted on your boat being the reason for the cable configuration.
