There is a guy in Toledo you may want to try. I guess where you go could depend on your location as well. Michigan is a good size state. Or you could ship your pump out of state if you were so inclined, too.

Ship it to someone who does it everyday!! it will cost the same as gas for a day. Jonny at big a performance is the man.

Fenton...15-20 min south of flint. my boat ran great until i got it out of storage. now water is leaking from the pump and i cant figure it out. i was thinking of putting in a new gasket kit. if that doesnt solve the problem i think im S.O.L. and pay to have it rebuilt. any suggestions?

Leaking ?? as in the, water leaking from the shaft/packing area? Thats normal, if it's excessive, just tight the packing seals a bit, and see if it settles down a bit. A dip every so often is what you aiming for, because they are basically water lubed, if too tight it can smoke the seals.

it does leak a little at slow speeds or at idle...which is fine. however, as soon as i give it throttle and hammer down on it. thats when it starts pouring water out. i tightened up on the 2 bolts by the packing and its still doing it. im about 95% sure its not coming out from the packing area. its only really gushing out at high speeds, so its hard to tell exactly where its coming from. i could stand up and watch while some one else drove but i dont feel like falling in the drink. i also tightened up all the bolts from the grate to the pump. still no change. what do you think? do you think that the four packings are shot? or maybe a bad seal on the transom?
any suggestions would help
thanks
