4.8 vortec it's a pritty heavy load for her but I still got 75 and 80 out of her in third gear on the flats. That little truck still amazed me what it puts up with. I would buy another one in a heart beat.

Great looking boat...so what kind of speed were you seeing? And how does it compare to the Baja?
Its a lot of boat for a 496HO to push around.

Thanks, I like it. belive it or not the 272 Baja with a 502mpi is about 1 to 2 mph faster. But this is quite bigger boat than the Baja evan though its only 1 foot bigger. The Nordic feels, rides, and drives, like a much bigger boat than the Baja. I think that I might be lucky if I'm getting 62 GPS. My Baja ran like 63+ and my friend has a 25 Outlaw that would run side by side. Now my friends Outlaw will pull on the Nordic. But it's a much bigger boat with the same power.

How would you compare the fit n' finish of the Baja to the Nordic? Rigging, etc... My wife really likes the 25' Baja Islander, but I saw a 25' Nordic with the open bow and mid-cuddy and really liked that boat. Haven't gotten up close to crawl around in one, though...
BTW - She is a beauty!

I would have to say that they are both very similar. the longer you have a boat the more you find the goods and the bads. I loved my Baja and Baja makes a very soild well built boat. I havent had the Nordic long enough to be able to tell how well built they are. I know that there are alot of people that talk highly about the Nordics. This one of the reasons I bought one. I wouldn't have many bad things to say about Bajas. I would buy another one in a heart beat. I hope that I get the same enjoyment out of the Nordic. But only time will tell Good Luck!!
