I found a set of used (basset) headers at the swap meet for $100. The chrome was pretty badly blistered and discolored all the way around. Does anyone know what it costs to powder coat or rechrome a set of headers or is it even worth while. If its going to be a couple hundred dollars or more I would think just buying a set of new headers for another $150 or so would be best. Also, what is the life expectancy of recoating?

Jet-Hot ceramic coating runs around $300 for a set of headers. They can take the chrome off too, for an extra charge. You can request a quote online at http://www.jet-hot.com/

I know Jim Lange had a set of Lightnings done.

Don't powder coat them unless they are fully water jacketed, it will burn off. If they are fully jacketed the powder coat works great and fully jacketed headers at Lighting are about $2,000.00
