The build consists of a Dual Dom 1050's, Hampton 8:71 (6-7 lbs of boost), Blue Thunder 100cc ported heads, Polished Manley 'extreme' valves (they freakin look like mirrors!), Miller rockers, solid rollers, big ass cam, Scat forged rotating assembly, 9:1 static, stock 460 DOVE block, and Lightning water jacketed headers. Running her on pump 92 octane w/ a splash of tolulene (spelling?).
The paint is a color that's available on new Kenworth trucks. It's Imron, and very very closely matches my Lightning rail kit. I didn't want the same ol black headers, so I had them stipped and repainted. I'm running a 160* t-stat, so the paint should hold fine on the block n headers. I also had the blower linkage base and Keith Eickert fuel log painted the same color.
It was supposed ti hit the dyno last weekend, but that fell through. Figuring a real world 850ish HP on 92. I will be dynoing it over the winter for perfect tuning, but for know I just want to go boating !!! Should be lighting it off this weekend. Been working on the boat/engine since last September. Next winter I plan on adding a SuperChiller, and having the trailer painted to match the striping on the hull.

Not running a dampener. It seemed to be a 50/50 deal on running with or without one. I'm told on a blower application the belt acts as a dampener, so one is not needed. I spoke at great length with Don Hampton personally about this build, and what I needed. He said no need for one, and I listened. He's got a LOT more experience than I do with blown engines.

NICE pix BlueOval. When you plan on dropping it in ?
As for me, this has been tuff from day one. I got it almost completely done Friday. I skipped work, me and a close freind put 16 hours in Friday (6am to 10pm) trying to get it lit off. No dice !!! The rail kit starter location is a bit off and the teeth won't engauge the flywheel properly:mad:  . That should be fixed this coming week. All that is left is to mount my second battery, mount the puke tank, hook up the boost reference lines, and run the two lines to my headers.

It will be sometime before this engine sees any use on the water.
I'm having a go at trying to figure out what length snout I should run( on the blower)?? The one I have is 7"?? long and I need to know if that one is to long?? I need to get my crank in and do a real mock up build and figure out all my clearance's?? I'd like to run an Alternator, so I need to figure that into the build. I wont be running a balancer... bla bla bal I have some time before she see's any lake time.
After the engine is done then I have to ground up rebuild the trailer and boat!!!:)
cheers

This may help you out on your snout. I'm using a Lightning rail kit in my boat. The front plate is about 3/8" thick. I cut 1 1/8" off the crank seal/sleeve to pull it nice n tight against the front mounting plate. The lower single groove pulley ended up about 1/4" from the front plate. Leaving about 1/2" gap between the belt n plate when installed. Don (Hampton) needed to know the distance from the front of the lower pulley installed and the face of the block (measured at the timing cover mounting area). That distance was 7 5/8". It all worked quite well. My alt is a tiny bit high, but is still well below the top of the valve cover.

Did you use a forged crank with a Ford snout?? Or a Chevy snout?? I'm leaning towards the Chevy snout. In the morning I'm gonna give Carrol Carter a call and see what he wants for one of his cranks!!!
thanks for the info.

I'm using the forged Ford style snout. I'm already using Chevy ex ports on my B'T heads, and Chevy Con rods. Any more Chevy stuff and the engine will slow down:D :D :D
