my new 383sbc is 8.5comp stage 2 6-71 running 10# boost
forged crank and pistons with a solid roller 268/276 with .645" lift if i need more ummmph would running Alky give me more of an increase than say a 250 nitrous shot .
I know that there would be different carb and timing requirements
are there any good sites /pages where I can read up on this stuff
would like to get some knowledge on this before going there
2800# Nova
Thanks

I guessing from a few details in your post that carbs are your induction. Alcohol will not give you the advantage over gas and an NOS shot at that compression ratio. If you stepped up the ratio (and boost)the alcohol should pass the gas/NOS level. And, you dont have to worry as much about bad timing/fuel distribution as you do with a NOS system which causes a melt down in no time. Alcohol is a little more forgiving on a missed tune-up. You will use a lot more fuel with alcohol. Try the HRE forums for some info.
