If its such a big deal parking boats in the channel why can you put up a easy up on the shoreline and even further reduce boat parking

They are for people who think they can get reserved parking.Set up before weekend then dont take down til they leave.
IMO if you move you lose your spot.

Its one thing if your out on the lake at a small beach and have set up a day camp.
Thinking your holding a spot in the channel by leaving your ez-up?? Just like a parking lot when you leave the next guys gonna grab it.....
Moving someones canopy over the shiiters will get your point across!!

I saw alot of ezups this past weekend. I thought it was not permitted to save spots in the channel.

Pretty soon you're going to have register your easy-up prior to said ez up and down operation within havasu city limits.
Channel- I'd say no go. It's busy and if you want the same spot as yesterday yet you want to sleep in till 2:30 in the afternoon, tuff titty.
Random beaches tucked away- Sure leave your crap, just hope the river pirates don't come over night and take your stuff to a garage sale in mexicali.

We park north of the bridge down by the condos. People will actually try and reserve spots by leaving an anchor with a bouy tied to it in the water, or by leaving a stake in the ground with a rope tied to it. We have a lot of fun with these people when the come back and try to get their "reserved" spots back.:D

having one up isn't the problem , it's the the ppl that think they OWN that spot and then leave it there overnite expecting everyone else to stay away from thier spot

Even this is against boating ettiquette as well, unless you're camped there overnite.
Nothing worse than getting up early to find a nice beach for your family only to have crap(as you call it) sitting on a beach, without anyone claiming it til noon or later....total BS:mad: If you leave it there it deserves to be trashed by the lake pirates ;)

They need to make all the people that just "wade" in the water move down to the swim zone area where boats cant go. I think its BS when I go into the channel and try to find a spot but there are 4 ez-ups and 50 people on the shoreline. There is a reason there are tieoffs on the shoreline wall, and its not to tie down your ez-up. Another thing that pisses me off with ez-ups is the people that dont steak them down or use straps to keep them secured. In havasu too many winds will come out of no where and i dont want some broke person with a $79 ez-up ruining my boat.

At lake Mojave I've beached in the morning at spots with chairs, we leave by 2pm and never even see the people who set up the chairs. There are so many spots on that lake, you just have to be willing to drive a bit ;)

An open letter to all Lake Havasu boat owners, & residents that have boat owner friends. I have been boating on your lake since 1963. It is painfully obvious that the majority of new boat owners have absolutely NO BOATING ETIQUETTE whatsoever! I'd like to use this forum to clue ALL of you in. These are just a few COMMON SENSE idea's you should live by: 1. When you tow your shiny new 30 plus foot, yuppie showboat, with your paint to match tow SUV, onto the launch ramp....that IS NOT the time to start loading your ice chest, your chairs, towels, umbrellas microwave ovens & portable TV's , kids, an cute liitle doggies into the boat.Nor is it the time to detail your boat when you pull it out later that day. Get the boat OFF/ON the trailor and get out of the way...there's more people waiting to launch or load. This also IS NOT the time or place to teach your wife, girlfriend, kid or yourself to back a trailor down the ramp.Do it in a parking lot somewhere else. 2. Once your in the water, and your out looking for a beach/cove to pull into, please do not cruise 40 feet off my beach, laying down a 3 foot high wake. Just because there is no "no wake bouy" in the area. I'm more than likely gonna have to get up & re-anchor my boat or call my kids/grandkids out of the water until you're out of the area. 3. If you cant find a beach/cove to tie up on, DO NOT pull up to mine and ask " would you mind if we beach here next to you?.... YES I do mind, VERY MUCH!!!.. I was on the water before 7;00 am to secure a beach for me & mine, NOT to save a spot for you & yours! DO NOT expect to tie off in the weeds 20 feet from my beach/cove,because there is "lot's of room", with your blareing stereo, you & your people traipsing thru my camp to use the bathroom, your cute little dog doing it's business on MY BEACH, and then dump YOUR trash in MY trashcan as you leave. I bought a yearly BLM pass, good for more than 70 camp/dayuse areas on the lake. It's $50 a year, BLM comes in reguarly to clean the bathroom's & cart off the trash. If you dump yours in MY can, I don't have room for mine. These day use beaches are VERY well designated, plain to see where the beach starts & ends!! 3. Your kids & your PWC's. The ABSOLUTE worst invention of the boating world in the last 200 years!!! DO NOT tell your kids to go play around the bend! I do not want to hear these whining rice grinders anymore than you do, an I do not want to be dodging them while they are spinning donut's 50 feet out in front of my boat while I'm pulling a skier. If you're going to turn your kids loose on the lake on one of these, at least teach them SOME resposibilty. 4. If you find it ABSOLUTELY necessary to mix your boating expierence with socializing............STAY in the channel at the London Bridge, go to the Sandbar or Copper Canyon, or Steamer Lane..........DO NOT bring YOUR party to MY beach. I AM NOT in the leastbit impressed with your $100K boat & matching paint scheme, REALLY not impressed with how loud your stereo can amp it up, and really unimpressed with how fast & loud you clowns can zoom from London Bridge to Havasu springs & back!! I embrace the noise restrictions, I hope they come down harder in the future. If there's ever a vote for a speed limit on the lake, I'll be the 1st to vote for that! If you wanna go boat racing........do it on a closed course somewhere! Join the NDJBA, or the NWSRA association or the Off-shore boat racing circuit.( Off-shore as in "out in the ocean") And for all the poker run fanatics that clog the lake EVERY weekend........if you want to play poker, there is a casino over at Havasu landing, or better yet try Laughlin....it's about 50 miles UP river, (go out windsor beach & turn right) I've seen way too many of you yuppie idiots, driving thru Parker on the way to Havasu...........here's a newsflash....you don't drive that 100 MPH boat any better than you tow it on the highway at 85

we leave most of our stuf on the beach we just take our food and that is about it. but a few years ago we went down and there is a beach were we always go to and someone left all there stuf on it so we didnt go there. it was like that the whole week we were there. well come to find out it was my aunts crap on the beach.

I know this issue about the channel but others have mentioned about beaches elsewhere on the lake and BLM/AZ State Park land. If I remember correctly the passes from BLM and AZ State Parks explicity state that there is no saving of beaches unless you are camped overnight as in you stayed there all night not just leave your stuff.....

Wow! I didn't know people were allowed to have their own beaches.
Obviously from the content of this post you are a really old piece of sh*t and will die soon. Hopefully your death will come before your oppurtunity to vote on speed limits at the lake.
You need to sleep in a little more, eat some wheaties that nobody pissed in and be a little less angry with the world.
Either that or die soon. The world will be a better, happier place either way.

We had an easyup set-up this weekend, but we didn't leave it in the channel to save a space...we just stayed there all day and when it's 120+ degrees outside it helps. I don't want to sit in my boat under the bimini, I would rather put an easyup infront of the boat - not blocking any parking
I do have a problem with them if someone is trying to hold a spot...
Amd james you did come through and let roxysnow park under your eazyup. Thanks again;)

3. So where is YOUR beach located????

Its one thing if your out on the lake at a small beach and have set up a day camp.
Thinking your holding a spot in the channel by leaving your ez-up?? Just like a parking lot when you leave the next guys gonna grab it.....
Moving someones canopy over the shiiters will get your point across!!
It's the same thing. I go out at 6 AM and find chairs and an EZ-UP in a cove?? I will get rich off of the this. Or just make a fish habitat.
Are you aware that the locals view this as a California thing?
I guess if you have a BALLER boat you get to reserve a cove?
Or just from Cali
Pretty sad.

Pertinent topic!
I AM old enough to remember going out to drop your stuff on a beach asap when you got to the lake and lake rules stated you dropped your crap first, you owned the spot till you left. Those were the days! Those days are GONE!
Too many people on the lake now. Sharing coves is a must unfortunatley. Pissed some peeps off last weekend that way. They loosened up in the end but they were peeved about sharing "MY" cove with me since I got there second. Kept the music down for their benefit, asked their kids to help with the ballon launcher, one of the adults came around slowly and was a real river dude in the end.
EZ ups in the channel? There WILL be LE regarding this as fights are bound to erupt. That's what happended to squirt guns and water ballons afterall.
Some people are unable to move forward and change with the times. It'll be rougher for them.

I have never seen a boat only parking sign any where in the channel...
I say bring it all down, It's MY park and I'll play if I want to.....:)

I dont know if its right or wrong to set up an EZ up in the channel but you sure as hell can set up your chairs and coolers and while the time away on a lazy day chillin' at the waters edge and never launch your boat....but to do it and expect to leave it there guarding your spot while you are off boating in steamboat for the day so you can park there in the afternoon ....or at the Nautical Cove
should be good reading in the papers/forums/ the next day..... :)

I think the key is "unoccupied" ez ups that are there for the sole purpose of saving spaces.
I think there should be "no mooring" of ez ups. :D
