Anyone know the tru story on this. I have heard from a few peeps that this is really bad? Seems everytime we launch my axle is under water. I have never had any issues but just curious?

You should avoid submerging the rear axel on any vehicle.
There's a vent on the top and water can get in . Most
auto manufacturers recommend changing the fluid after
submerging an axle. Boat trailers are sealed and using
grease or a special oil bearing buddy for the wheel
bearings.

If you are going to submerge it, run a long vent tube up to the top of the chassie and back down below the pumpkin. This is what 4x4 er's do to keep water out.
