Folsom Lake this weekend?

Just wondering if anyone was going out to Folsom this weekend? It looks like this might be the last weekend for us because the water is dropping so fast. The only good thing about the water level now is that it exposes a really cool sandbar were we can beach the boats and hangout out of the sight of the Rangers. If you are going let me know what day is better Sat. or Sun. Maybe a party on the sandbar????

We'll probably go to Tahoe and the river more often. Not a real big fan of the Delta, the water is not exactly ideal to swim in. Come to think of it I'll probably be spending a lot more time by the pool.:D

If you drive about 13 miles west there is a big pool called the river:D :D . it just has little waves;)

Yes for about another week and then it will be down to the little 2 lane ramp which isn't even worth your time on a weekend.

we were out on Folsom on June 30th and the level was at 434. today its at 428. looks to be dropping about 1/2 foot a day. didn't look bad on the 30th. Grads, what's the critical low level for launching at Granite Bay? when do you have to start using the crappy launch ramp that we used for testing back in the winter time? I think we tested back in January or so and the level was in the 410 to 415 level. that was pretty low then. that would give us about a month until the level is in that range.

At 424 we have to start using the small ramp and on a weekend it's just not worth it. The wait to launch and retrieve the boat can be brutal on a weekend. Also there are a lot of places that are not marked that start to appear or are just under the surface of the water so unless you know where these places are be careful out there.

i was out on the 6th and man was it low from the week before. went down the south fork and lots of new tree tops were up and a lil cove off to the side wasnt even passible any more... 3 more trips and my pass is paid for thankfully

From your area I would launch at the Elkhorn Launch on the Yolo County side and boat down from there. I don't know the exit name but it's the last one before you cross the river on HWY 5. Head south on the levy road about a 1 to 2 miles its on the left just past the R.R. crossing. It's a honor pay site so have small bills for the envelope..It's a nice run downtown from there.
