I'm out. :D
When I bought my Spectre it was a private party sale from a Cali resident and had AZ numbers in place. Buying from a dealer in Cali is out of my realm. Sorry. :) :D

I don't know about this either - I read your post again and see that you live in AZ - If it was a private party sale I don't think you would owe sales tax - I'm not sure what happens if you buy from a Ca dealer - Did you ask the dealer? You might want to call AZ Game and Fish and ask them.

You will have to pay sales tax. If the dealer does not charge you the sales tax you will need to pay the tax to Arizona Dept of Revenue and supply Game & Fish with the receipt. You will also need the original signed AZ registration releasing ownership from the prior owners.
Contact me at 602-789-3406 if you need further help. :)

If at a dealer regardless of state, yes.
However, if paying cash, and the title is still in the last owner's name and signed, then there is no way of tracking that.

You really should be careful posting up personal stuff as I hear that stalkers hang out around this place. :notam: :D
Might be in touch with the Duffy deal here for Big Warlock if none of his guys can get it taken care of... they're building a trailer for it now. :D

LOL :D
Am I wrong? If the dealer takes the money and acts like the buyer bought it from the last owner, the it would seem like a private sale, no? :)

Not wrong. Maybe the prior owners notified us of the sale. Highly possible.

C'mon now... I've never called you. ;)
There were other issues with the Duffy, like paint and stereo. Now that those are out of the way, the insignificant stuff, like a trailer to get it to Cali, are coming into play. :D :D :D

Not sure of the county tax rate. You can expect at least 5.6% and additional city or county tax. If you want to check it out call Bernadette at ADOR 602-716-6557 and she'll let you know the exact tax rate for the purchase.
Decided to pick up lunch and bring it back to work, so far so good! :)

A CA dealer must collect sales tax unless they perosnally deliver it out ot state or have an ICC common carrier pick it up at the dealership and deliver it out of state. The dealer keeps the bill of laden if the board of eq audits them they will need that receipt.
