Fixed Problem With Oil Pressure, Found Broken Pushrod Guide Plate Worn Pushrods Tip Bent Over. Was Told To Open Guideplate Up, But What Kind Of Clearance Should They Have. Put Harden Pushrods In Now, But Would Like To Know What Kind Of Clearance They Should Have. Seems To Me They Should Be Very Close In Order For Them To Stablize Pushrod And Rocker Assy?

DO NOT OPEN UP THE GUIDE PLATES. If you had non hardened pushrods before then your problem is solved. If your pushrods were hardened then check your rocker alignment with the valve tip. You are correct the pushrod has to be snug in the plate to control the rocker

gn7 is right. You need hardened pushrods, not wide open guideplates to let the rockers flop all over the place and push on the retainer instead of the valve stem istelf.
There is no real wear factor with the right pushrods so get those and forget about them.

Thanks: This makes much more sense. Going back readjust guide plates again and run check pushrod later after some run time. Thanks!!
