Don't sail boats have the right of way?

Don't sail boats have the right of way?
Only when they are under sail. The ferry (or whaler) had the right of way on this one. Seems like someone got a bit distracted,, probably below getting another beer...

Correct. That boat was under power, no sails up. BTW even if you are under sail you can't expect large boats to maneuver that fast.

I sorta kinda resemble that remark - as someone who has spent more time (11+ years) driving Sea-Doo's, than I have been driving go-fast boats (6+ years), I've seen about an equal share of idiots driving boats as I have riding jet-ski's. The guy on the sail-boat certainly deserves to fall victim to natural selection......

How exactly does someone sorta kinda resemble a remark? :hammerhea
as someone who has spent more time (11+ years) driving Sea-Doo's......
I'm sorry to hear that, but I guess if you make your bed you gotta sleep in it.
Welcome to the boards! :rollside:

What a perfect place for a sail boat to end up! That is where they all belong... :yuk:

I use that video in my Boating Safety Course. It's probably about 20 years old by now.
It was an Insurance job, by the way. The sailboat owner couldn't keep up the payments and picked a pretty bad method to pay the thing off.
Unfortunately, (for him) the accident investigation picked up on the scheme, and the carrier refused payment and filed fraud charges.

Proof that the "lug nut rule" applies to water vessels too.
