About 6500lbs with a Nissan Armada and a 4.8 Silverado. Only tow 1 1/2 to the launch ramp and another 1 1/2 back home though.

I tow about 6K max fully loaded with a Crew Cab 1500 4x4 with the 345 HP Vortex Max, HD tranny. Towing capacity is 10K.
I don’t like getting close to 75% of capacity especially if it does not have a heavy duty trans. The old avalanche was a pig.

Do you know what the max weight for conventional towing with your sub is? I looked at the new ones and they max out around 9700 lbs.

Mine is the 3/4 ton 8.1L (I don't think they are making them anymore). With the 4.11 gears, Chevy rated them at 12,000lbs. When I put the boat on the scale, it was a hair over 12,000lbs with a little gas.
With full tanks on the boat, it would add about 1,300lbs, so I usually try to run them low for long tows.

It actually tows really well. The boat has 1,500lbs of tongue weight, so I put a Reese Titan WD hitch on. On the hills, the tranny would heat up, so I put the biggest cooler (w/fan) I could find and a Mag Hy-Tech pan....no worries now.
I just use patience up hills. With that much weight, it does not pay to be in a hurry....if you know what I mean.

I got the opposite. 5,000 +lbs Daytona towed with a V6 3.5L Misubishi Montero. I've towed it back & forth from Parker a few times, no problem, cruise control @ 65mph. 128k miles & runs like new - still on the original tranny.

Expedition replaces Ford's 2-door-only Bronco and goes head to head with the Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon and Toyota Land Cruiser. Although the Expedition is 16 in. longer than the Explorer, it's still 14 in. shorter than the Chevrolet/GMC Suburban twins. Yet Expedition handily seats nine and has an 8000-pound towing capacity. It's a lot of truck. honestly, many find the 7000-pound capability of the Tahoe and Yukon quite enough.
Not me.

If my boat weighed more would definitely be getting a bigger truck. The Tundra does what I need it to do for now.

this little guy used to do the long hual. But it did have ford 9" under the front and rear.
Going up the Grapvine I felt like I could get out and run faster. lol
As far as pulling the boat out that was the easy part. I'd leave the hubs unlocked and drop it in low range. It would walk the right up the ramp with no throttle.
