Anyone try CMI mufflers

I'm thinking about purchasing some CMI mufflers for my 800hp motor being built. I heard that if you keep the rpm's under 3,000 the mufflers works well reducing the noise (this makes the wife very happy). However, when you open the throttle the mufflers open and get much louder (this makes me very happy). Has anyone tried these mufflers? They also want over $1200 for a pair. Hopefully there is some deal out there!!!!!:confused:

I dont know about those, but I got the Gibson tips. Quiet on idle and still some great sound on top. Not $1200.

We have the exact CMI's your looking into on all our Adrenaline boats and they work very well. They keep the boat very quiet at idle for putting through the harbor or the channel and then when you hit it they open up and sound very good when your flying across the river. The only con I have to them is sometimes at idle you can kind of hear the mechanism rattling but its not that bad the exhaust sound kind of overwhelms the rattle.

I was trying to find some info on those eddie marine big gun mufflers but the website does not show the HP limiltations or anything else. I believe the mufflers are the old series built in 2004 to 2005 but I can't find any info.

I called CMI and they stated the newly designed mufflers have less rattling. Is that true? Have you installed any in the past two months, that produced less rattling noise or is the statement not totally acurate? Thank you for your help.:)

They had no issues with 850 hp...
