Nice. Im planning (in my mind) on purchasing a 21 deck jet in the next year or so. I will most likely sell my Taylor next summer.

finally got to get on water Tuesday, will be changing props, other than that boat is pretty sweet, small lake was really choppy due to 30 mile per hr wind no problem at all ran 73 mph with 3 adults 2 full tanks, 102 degrees only got to 4200 rpm thats why I think we need a different prop.

Lynn,
It may be mufflers and not the prop.

removed mufflers still ran 73 did have a little more response in the midrange 4300 rpm still max

A Mag or an HO?
73 at 4300 doesn't sound right.
At 4300 with 10% slip and a 26P prop you should see slightly over 63. Have your Tach checked.

other than hooking the engine up to a computer is there another way to check tach?

lynn

I forgot its an HO

You could replace the tach
Lynn, based on math alone, a 26P prop, which is likely the case with an HO, and 10% slip, 4300 RPM's, can't result in 73 MPH or anything even close. Either your speedo or your tach is way off.
Please call John West, John D or Barry and I'm sure one of them will verify this.

Look at the back of the tachometer and make sure that the dip switches are set correctly for the amount of cylinders and such.

at the lake (Murry in Okla.) all weekend people where taking pictures and asking questions all day, got stopped by fish cops they could not find the hull ID number, Had to call John West to get them off my Ass, later the cop said that he just stopped us to get a closer look.
