Well, duh, I could see that... :D :D :D
I just always kind of thought that the movie "The Guardian" was about the life and times of The JBB, as portrayed by Ashton Kutcher. :D :D

WOW good bye old pig.:D that biotch was shaped like a football and would pitch like there was no tomorrow. We were in Seattle for Tista and had to head back to Kodiak in December straight across with 25ft swells hitting us on the beam. It was pitchen like a mofo. NO FUN:yuk:

Not old enough yet, but I plan to go in right after high school. Kodiak would be my first choice so I can experience it without a family and having to bring a family up there to live.
Let me know if you guys have any pointers for getting in, I wanted to do the Coast Guard academy but my grades aren't quite good enough to get in, no 4.0's here.

Wifes dad was the old man of the USCG in WW2.
USMC vet here. Ya couldn't pay me enough to do it again, or enough to take the memories away.
I advise any kid wanting to go into the U.S. military to strongly consider the USCG.
Aviation or SeaBorne side.
If ya have the mental capacity, the Coast Guard Academy and be an O.

In some cases you dont need a 4.0. I have a friend of mine that went in and went to OCS with a 3.2
If you dont go to OCS make sure you get a A school right out of boot. They wont offer it to you but ask. Also ask for a sign on bonus. Sometimes they will give you as much as 10k.
As for Kodiak. Dont ever let those words come out of your mouth again. I wouldnt wish Kodiak on any single guy. Especialy one under 21 years old. There is nothing to do but DRINK. NO!!! And i mean NO good looking women. Now if you fortunate enough to go to Nome Ak. Now there is another story. There is not alot of people that live in Nome. But there is planty of BARS and WOMEN. Now Juneau alaska is a cool town. If I had to do it over again thats where I would head.

My parents lived on the Winchuck River and moored their boat in Chetco Harbor for 14 years. I fished and crabbed all over that area. Love it!

I'm not.
If the boat sinks I just find a SEAL, so I can stand on his shoulders as he wades to shore.
Actually, in my relatively short (13 year) Active Duty time, I spent more time in Deepwater than most Navy Pukes.
From the North Pole to the South Pole and back. Sailed the 7 Seas, and have the honor of being a duly recognized Square Knot Sailor. Not to mention, the Dateline (Golden Dragon), Equator (Shellback), Equator @ 180th Merridian (Golden Shellback), Arctic Circle (Blue Nose Polar Bear), and Antarctic Circle (Red Nose Penguin).
How many Squids can make that claim?
