First....welcome the sandbox (kindly remove your flipflops!). Second, no questions may be submitted to the boards prior to posting pictures of both your boat and your wife or girlfriends rack. Third, I know nothing about jets (having just knocked the nozzle off of my Howard DayCruiser). Lastly, I see no reason why you couldn't take the driveshaft to a driveline shop and have it lengthend (sp?).

Cadillac, there are two different "stock" depth oil pans. One is 7.8" deep(car) and the other is 8.8" deep(truck). You must run the 7.8" oil pan or you will have clearance problems. From your pics it looks like you may have the deeper of the two. Jet-boat specific aftermarket pans will be the 7.8" depth. If you are replacing an Olds, you should have no problem setting the bellhousing face of the engine in the exact spot as the Olds without having to lengthen the driveshaft.

old squirt thanks for the numbers...i have a gil 10 quart oil pan..its 8.86 inches deep...even with a stock pan at 7.8 the extra one inch it wont clear the pump and the bolts have been cut down already..i need like 2 inches to clear the pump

The deep pan you have is for I/O use, sometimes they call it an "offshore" pan.
The 7.8" is what is designed for jet boats. It will only reach to the lowest point of your rear mount. It is a close fit above the front row of intake bolts, but it WILL FIT.
BTW, from your pics it looks like you have the engine level with the stringers rather than at approximately 4 degree angle(up in front) to match the pump centerline's angle. Set the angle correctly and you actually gain a bit more clearance.
For reference, this is the Dooley pan that I run. The fact that the rear of the pan is curved, rather than squared off, may contibute to it have sufficient clearance.

Any boat that had an Olds in it should be able to swap a Chevy in with no problems as long as you use the stock automotive depth pan.

I switched from 1310 series drive line to a 1350 series. The 1350 is about inch and a quarter longer than my 1310 drive line.

502 what type of drive line was it? I looked at rex and the difference between the 1310 and 1350 was only 1/4 inch and not the 1 1/4 you have.

My 1310 is probably a different design than the REX 1310.
Here is a side by side comparison of my 1310 and the new 1350. There is a big difference all the way around. Maybe its a misprint you could call them and ask them to measure the two for clarification.

Cadillac, sounds like he may have gone from a "direct mount" 1310-style to a PTO-mount 1350-style. The addition of the PTO would account for the additional length he gained. You are right that the normal difference in length between the 1350 and 1310 is between 1/4" and 1/2" depending on whose catalog/website data you use.
No It was not a direct mount. I ran it with the adapter, it wouldnt bolt up without it.

502, do you have the actual measurements of those 2 shafts?
I've also seen the measurements of 1310 and 1350 shafts on other websites/catalogs and the difference is usually listed as being between 1/4" and 1/2".
I deleted my previous post when I saw your pics.
Edit. Just measured the 1310 I have in the garage that looks identical to yours. It is 7 1/2" overall length. Rex lists their 1350 at 7 3/4" and Glenwood lists their 1350 at 8".

I just measured my old 1310 drive line at 7.5" same as the REX 1310  .
I cant measure the 1350 its in the boat and the boat is at my shop. Call REX and have them measure the 1350 and you will see.

The 1350 was 1.25" longer. When I opened the box I seen the difference. I thought when I bought it no big deal only 1/4" longer. NOT! I thought I was going to have to move my motor forward but the plated bottomed on the mounts before the drive shaft bottomed out. I have 1/4" of space between the drive line bottoming out and the crank adapter.
The 1310 drive line that I took off must have been barely engaged. I have a good solid connection now.
REX needs a new ruler. LOL

Current spicer design 1310's are about 7.5" aol, 1350 are about 8.25 oal.
I probably need to review and modify our measurements. Spicer has furnished several different designs over the years and changed them slightly.
