has anyone taken both? I have my California license and applied for Nevada, looking to take the test soon.
Looking for information on how different the test maybe, tips for Nevada, etc.

It's been some years since I took both Rich so I'm dated info.
I do remember that you should file for all the trades/classes you want and get it over with rather, than going back later.
I didn't study much for Nevada and did ok.
I remember job bidding, worker comp, and safety questions popped up. Maybe 5 of them total.
I quessed my best, its sooo close to Cali.
But this was in some time ago.
It was just after the MGM fire, so fire safety was a BFD.
Not much help.
Good wishes on your exam.
You'll do fine.

Good information Ross, the people in Nevada's state office said the same thing. They have some very similiar questions, should not be a problem:idea:

Spent last week in Vegas studying for the exam, passed both the Law and Trade. Significant differences between the two states.
Nice, Licensed in two states now:D

Could work out OK.
I spent last weekend at Cottonwood Cove then off to Vegas for the week.
My boat is registered in Nevada, spends more time on Mead and Mohave then any where else:D

You need the books for the Nevada test. It is quite different.
