The girl being interviewed is a 16 year old racer.....local news was doing a piece on her......notice what is written on the back of her boat!...:D

The young lady, Ashley Ruf, runs in the TE, 9 sec. class, I believe. At least she has with the KDBA. That small Kurtis is a 8.50 boat w/ that motor. Add a supercharger and go 7.00. Update: just heard on Drag Boat Alley audio blog that Ashley is running in the 10 sec class, and is #1 Qualifier. Also Richard Tippet got wet coming off the starting line but doesn't appear to be hurt badly.
She has to run M/E with IHBA, SDBA, and SLDBA because of the NDBA rules...but she runs T/E down in Kentucky. She beat me in Creve Coeur earlier this year, but I sure as hell didn't see that sticker on the back of her boat because I had her covered but I brokeout. You should hear that boat...hits the rev limiter at the starting clock and cracks and pops the whole way down the track.

What are ya trying to say......that she detuned it herself so as not to break out? Did she hurt any parts? Any one know how she did in GA?

It's a 9 second boat, so I think they just stick a pretty small RPM chip in the MSD box and let her drive the hell out of it to run 10's...she does run 9's with the Kentucky club. I could be wrong, but that's just what it sounds like to me when it goes down the track. I could also be wrong again, but I hear that's not good on an engine. I don't know how she did down in Augusta. It's a good looking boat though...pretty sure she's part of the Big Dick's Halfway Inn gang.
