I want to go boating in Mission Bay on Sunday but have never been. Anybody have advise on where the best place to launch is and have any other pointers or does anybody else want to take their boat out as well.

Well not many pointers other than you better know the rules in the pond. They have a lot of law enforcement on weekends and you do not want to make a mistake. IE Misdeameanor.
The best place to launch is probably South Shores plenty of parking and nice ramp. The second choice is probably Islandia launch but it is hard to find for the novice.
De Anza is easy but not a lot of parking. Remember the majority of MB is no wake great if you want to check out whats going on but sucks if you really want to air it out ie.... do some speed runs unless your up early.
Also this weekend is the finals of OTL and the Mission Bay Basin will be packed early.

There are a few ramps around. De Anza is the one by the 5 fwy, you can see it at the clairmont drive offramp and by the info center. Its OK, but the dock is rough and exposed to the boating wakes.
By far the nicest ramp is the new ones near Sea World. Wide, concrete, no wakes coming in, lots of room on the courtesy docks and not everyone knows about it. I'd use that. Its no wake to the buoy line and then have at it.
Its the usual counterclockwise rotation. The eastern portion is no speed limit. Under the bridges on the west is 5 mph. Sail bay has limits parts of the season and parts of the day.
Its fun to head out the breakwater to the ocean, you don't have to go far but give it a try. Also the marina over near the Coast Guard have some cool boats.
The Paradise Point resort will sometimes let you tie up and eat lunch at the Barefoot Bar. It depends on the crowd level. You can always beach it over neat the Bahia and walk to roberto's over by the roller coaster.
Its pretty shallow especially at low tide so be careful. Its all sand and weed bottom so don't stress on rocks.
Lots of knuckleheads on jetskis so watch for them. Mission Bay is fun.

Dana Landing. Off Ingraham. Next to Sundance Marine. Protected and wide. Plenty of parking. Even on busy weekends. Fuel and general store there also. Beer, wine, sodas, some parts. Oil's, filters, etc...
Cool to run out of Shelter Island. Ramp is wide but steep. Small dock there. A lot of restaurants and places to party. Easy docking near most.
