If that is the time, that is incredible to run that speed for almost an hour (both boat and skier). It also means they were probably hitting over 100 mph at times.
Wow.

Yes, Kim is from Britain. Lee Spindler of Schiada is a southern California local and also pulled Kim in last years Catalina ski race. Schiada is based in Torrance, CA and rigging is performed in Panorama City, CA. I live in Burbank and I am a Schiada 21 V-drive owner.

Great morining watching all the boats and talking with a couple of teams.
The big Nordic and team made it look easy.
I have to give it to the small boats making that run at high speeds. The water was ocean smooth but not smooth with wakes coming off the Catalina Express and other large boats.

Too bad Pete crashed. That would have made for a great finish dash...

Jay stalled a motor near/at takeoff but recovered very well. He was squeezed outside for awhile by another boat but still made it to the island 22 overall and back to the finish at 13th overall (unofficial). That includes all the first wave of smaller boats, so he is likely to have ended up about 7th in the open class.....when we were there the race officials havent sorted things out yet...

We actually finished 8th in class and 10th overall.... We left the Breakwall in approx 34th Picking off 12 boats once out of the breakwall.... Got passed by 5 boats at the turn boat in Avalon as we were p 2 (second boat closest to the turn boat) when p1 kept going strait tried speeding up to pass 21' p 1 boat and started running a line that would have put us in the middle of spectator boats so had to slow to 40 make the turn and got passed by alot of boats.... We had a great time and want to thank our sponsors Wayne @ Liquid Technologies LLC. A J @ Roof Odor Solutions. Woody @ Anaheim Chevrolet. Mike @ Cmac Construction. Nicole at Hom Real Estate group and Brian at B & D Marine..... WE WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR..... Ted it was great to see you and Mimi.. Thanks for the post race drinks

The Nordic is advertised as a 47' Cyclone with a 42'10" running surface. it made every other boat out there look small and gave the most unreal ride for Todd. he did not appear to work 1/2 as hard as anyone else. Congrats to everyone who participated and finished.

Beautiful boat but it doesn't look that big? Sounds like a great time! Sorry we missed it! Be back on Lake Pacific next weekend.
