Looks to me like a sun spider or pronounced "locally" as a "vinagaroon"...you taste vinagar, and they are agressive. I had one come at me on my patio last summer.

I live in Queen Creek AZ. How far are you from me. Just want to know if I have to keep a look out for these things. What type of landscape do you have??
Reason I ask is if you have a home built on a scorpions nest you will have a problem with them. Our home was built over an old pecan farm, and we see all the little bugs that used to hang around here back when the old farm was here.

I live in Buckeye for over a year and this is the first I've seen. I have not seen any other scorpions around here just your basic black widow now and then.

I've had lots of sun spiders at my home in Havasu over the years. Yeah they are scary looking, and yes they move very fast. Raid works well on them.

That thing looks tiny compared to the one I found under the couch at our house in Parker 2 weeks ago. It was dead and the damn thing scared me  . No way would I let the wife see it or that house would have been for sale. She wasn't with me on that trip thank god .Called the bug guy and they hadn't switched us over to the summer schedule yet which is monthly. He showed up about 30 mins later. We always have dead scorpions around when we go up but I've never seen anything that big before that made it into the house.

FYI.....
Scorpions do not nest. Their travelers. You may be in an area that scorpions are promanant (i.e. the desert). :D

I second that. Watch them both and Man vs Wild starts looking like a puss. Too staged, too Hollywood. The only thing he really has going is he'll eat just about anything for shock value. BTW, DONT let the old lady watch the Youtube clip off the Wikipedia link of that thing eating a lizzard... she wont sleep for a couple days.

The sight of those things send chills through my body. They're always good for a scare when you're in the garage looking for something, move a box and one of these demon spawn bugs are running at you. We always called them potato bugs, but whatever they are...they're better off dead. On a 2nd note...is ST really posting here again?

I don't know what the fuzzy thing is but the other but is a vinagaroon. They can get rather large, we've had some big ones. I was told they are good to have around because the eat the crickets...I don't know though, they're creepy!

Those things are fast. Once you spot one, you have to go psycho on it. Hope to have a hard surface for the termination of the beast. You can stomp on them big bastards and they will play dead and then run again. About a good ten good heal drops on it will work. If its on gravel or sand you wont be able to kill it. When they bite they hang on pretty good too. You have to kind of grab on to it and pull it off ya. If I see one I wont get scared, I'll get pissed and go tear-ass crazy to find it. Yikes!! If I knew one was in my house, I would set off about 50 insect bombs and not come back inside for a week.
Best to go recon and find the bastard.
Wondering if they are in the scorp family, will they glow in the dark with a black light?

Hate to tell you, but both of those guys have an "advisor" and a crew. I guess it's supposed to be all quiet, for obvious reasons, but my boss did a desert survival training class about a month ago through Gabe Suarez's Suarez International in Prescott, AZ and the guy he had teaching the class was the "advisor" to BOTH of those guys.
Bear Grillz doesn't have any of the SAS background he claims he does, but is a very good climber and parachuter (as seen) and will eat anything. The producers of that show say that's one of the big draws for the people - to see what he eats in the next show.

I beg to differ.
Bear "Man vs Wild" IS the shiat. SAS special forces, summited Everest, navigated the arctic, skilled climber, etc.
He broke his back in a parachuting accident. 18 months in recovery and look at him now.
He takes one camera guy and he does not intervene.
Now survivor guy is a filmographer with great survivor skill. His attributes are running a guide operation and taking lots of survivor classes from a guy like bear.
Both are good, but if I were in the shiat I'd take Man vs Wild any day.

Yea but when I'm watchin Man Vs. Wild, why the hell is that guy ALWAYS breathing so hard? Think of that while you're watching and you'll laugh your ass off:D . And when ever he cross a "deadly river" or goes up and out of an "impossible" canyon, I figure it can't be that hard cause the dang Camera Man is right there getting the shot!!! And who knows if hes cheating with food and what not.
Survivor man whoops Man Vs. Wild ass!
