Hey Guys,
I am getting rid of the old "lowrider" steering wheel in my boat, and have a few questions about the new one. The old one was the standard three bolt pattern. See the pic:

Frst question is, how do I get that metal shaft adpater off? It looks like it is keyed and pressed on. I Want to replace that cheesy morse plastic bezel with one like this:

And looking at my old wheel, I think they used the small style because there was not enough room between the wheel and the bubble deck of the boat. So I need a adapter 4" that sticks out I believe to make room for the new wheel. Can that adapter bolt right onto my metal adapter with three holes already there? This is the wheel I would like:

Thanks for pointing me int he right way! There are alot of options, not sure which work together!

My best advice would be. Put out a page for REXONE with Rex Marine. He will have a solution for you.

P.S. By the way nice wheel.

The metal hub on the wheel in the pic needs to be pulled with a harmonic balancer puller(others may work, just what I used). Then you can pop that black plastic deal off and slide on one of the billet or annodized ones. Over that slides a billet hub from rex. Then lock it on with the bolt and lock washer that came off the existing helm. Study the online catalog on Rex's site. It explains this pretty well. Or you can look at the pic. This shows all you need.

Brendella thanks so much. Thats exactly what I need to do. Same exact setup as yours! :) After looking at your pic though, my cheesy Morse plastic cover looks a heck of a lot smaller height wise than the Rex replacement. Did you notice that as well when you replaced yours?

Thanks Overkill, I have a PM in with him. I get all my stuff from them so that works out perfect! I think that wheel will make a great fit!

Ahhh sweet Succcess! I just wanted to thank Rexone for the tremendous help he has given me over the last few days! HE figured out my whole hub was in half @ss backwards, and directed me on how to fix it. Anyways, to make a long story short, this is why I take my business every time to Rex Marine. Thanks again Mike. Man what a difference this wheel and hub makes!:D
