It seems that my boat cover has stained my rub rail. I have tried cleaning it with the normal boat cleaner, finger-nail polish remover, and even lightly rubbing it with a rag with acetone one it and it did nothing. Can some one help?

Just today we were doing a board members boat which had a ton of gas stains on the rub rail the length of the boat, we used acetone to get it off, just keep using a fresh area of the towel to get it off............it'll come out !! :D

I have said it before and I will say it again. OXY CLEAN. Put the powder on a birstle brush, spray the stained area, and start scrubing. I tell ya it will work.

"goof off" ...put some on a rag...rub...put some more on a clean part of the rag...rub etc, etc. It removes all the grime off the entire rub rail in minutes.

Acetone should take it out? If not try a little softscrub. Mark

Acetone or magic eraser. Both work wonders.. Magic eraser took off tire marks from a blow out I had on the boat It is amazing...

put it in the right hole and maybe your "rub rail" won't get stained:D :D
Clorox bleach spray works for me, just make sure you dont let it dry on the wax:)

I heard the owner of Magic eraser won't sell you his products if he thinks you're a dick.

Great, thanks everyone for the info... I am going to try each one until I find one that works. It sucks that I just bought the boat and had to store it outside for a few weeks and this happens...
Keep the suggestions coming incase these don't work for some reason...

My cover stained my boat. I tried everything. It would bleach out with time but it was pinkish until then. I talked to Aaron at absolute about replacing it and he said why just wet sand it. So, hesitantly I did and it came out bitchen. I have a rub rail that is simular to a hard plastic..... Good luck. I have used magic eraser on light thing stains. Did anyone mention that yet?:)
