I bought a 2007 Chevy 1500 crew cab 4x4 6.0 want to lift it. Should I go 33 or 35 inch tires? 4,6, or 7 inch lift? CST, RCD, RANCHO, Pro Comp others? Need some input from informed people... I know there are some guys on here that or work at shops that guide me in the right direction.

Hey Hows it going, I would go with 35's and a 6-7" kit. I say this because most people have a tedency to think they don't want to go that big and just want to level it out and get some aggressive tires etc. Then most of them realize quickly after they get there lift done that they would have really like to go bigger and regret not going as I high as they wished they would. And 35's aren't to big, they won't effect your trucks performance too drastically and won't require a mandatory gear upgrade. I think you would be really happy with a 6" RCD and some 35's or even a 7" CST and 35's, both of those kits are top notch. I have always been a fan of CST but theres definetly nothing wrong with RCD they produce a quality lift aswell and Im sure Jay will come in here and post his thoughts aswell.
Thanks John

I agree with a lot of this but I'll say I ran a 6" RCD with 35's on my old 1500 4x4 and I definitely noticed the power loss when towing. I was running 4.10's and I should have jumped to 4.56 gearing. Other than towing it ran great and did awesome cruising the freeway.
That being said...33's will barely get you as tall as the Fords or Dodges.....to really notice the lift at all 6" and 35's. Now if you just want a little larger tire and beefier look then a 4" lift (if they make one) and 33's will be fine....just won't really "look" like a lifted truck.
Either way look at getting a programmer to correct the speedo and give you some extra power. I like the Diablo Sport Predator tuner over the Hypertech or others. We run one on my WIfe's 5.3L Tahoe and it really made an improvement even on the 87 octane tune.
Hope that made sense,
Chris

I would not get a pro comp.
I talked with several shops today and was basiclly told do not buy a Pro comp, Rancho or Fabtech lift for my model truck. From what I understand they are having problems with the stabilitrack feature and setting off the check engine light and activating the ABS.
Also, spoke with CST today and they are working on a larger kit but do not have a release date yet as they are also having problems working around the stabilitrack. Apparently the 4 inch kit does not have this problem and is working well in the market so far. So it looks as if my choices are limited on what I can do until CST releases their larger kit.

Just wait till all the kinks are worked out on the lift.. From my experience CST and RCD are good kits.. Seems they need a little more R & D to finish.... You could always slam it on bags and tuck 26's!!

Are you having any problems with the stabilitrack? Did you have to do any triming to get the 35 to fit?
