Nicole Richie was sentenced Friday to four days in jail and ordered to undergo drug and alcohol treatment in a plea deal on DUI charges.
Richie entered a guilty plea and immediately was sentenced to 96 hours in jail -- minus six hours already served -- fined $2,048, put on three years probation and ordered to undergo drug and alcohol counseling. She will be allowed to choose between a county and city jail and has until Sept. 28 to serve her time.
Given that she had a DUI conviction in June 2003, Richie could have been jailed for up to a year.
Richie, in a sleeveless black dress, arrived at the Glendale court at 8:25 a.m. -- five minutes early -- on the arm of her boyfriend, musician Joel Madden.
She was arrested Dec. 11 in Burbank for driving her black Mercedes SUV the wrong way on the 134 Freeway. The reality-TV star failed a field-sobriety test and told police she had taken a pain killer and smoked marijuana, authorities said.
Richie appeared this morning before a court commissioner who sentenced her on the spot.

2000 dollar fine wtf? weed in the system. painkillers and drunk. how about driving the wrong way on the freeway? i have seen people get far worse on a first time. did this fine not include all the aa meetings? what about suspending her licence? dont most people get community service with thier fines? why would it be plea bargined? tax payers money i understand but didnt they have her dead nutz?
makes you wonder what lohan will get. she needs a year term with a 6 month serve.

Like stated, Nichole was adopted as an infant. She is anorexic, pregnant and addicted. Yet tragically she is what I consider the "good" one out of all of 'em.
Lindsay Lohen needs to be assigned to be in my care and my care only for an unspecified amount of time. I am sure I could take full advan...., Uh, I mean, show her the error of her ways.
