Results for Final Round
POMONA, Calif. - SUMMIT FastNews - Results of final, round 4 eliminations in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 43rd annual K&N Filters Winternationals:
W/L Driver RT ET Speed
(W) Tony Bartone (Roger Dean Racing A/FD) 0.039 5.262 266.74
(L) Morgan Lucas (Lucas Oil A/FD) 0.016 5.292 273.05
Just a quick note about Bartone. He became the first driver in history to hold the national ET records in both Alcohol Dragster and Alcohol Funny Car. Never been done before today. Amazing again. Bartone takes the win in the quickest side by side Alcohol Dragster in history and man was it close. Tony Bartone's MOV: 0.0078 seconds (approximately 3 feet). Lucas took the lead at the start and held it until about 1000 feet into the run. Bartone accomplished this with at least one hole out.
JUST THOUGHT I WOULD POST THIS FOR ANYONE WHO DID'NT KNOW YET.... devil :D devil :D devil

Top Alcohol Dragster, Tony Bartone, who set the national e.t. record at 5.22 in the semifinals, backed up by an earlier 5.25, defeated Morgan Lucas in a thrilling 5.26 to 5.29 final round. Bartone also still holds the national record in Top Alcohol Funny Car, set two and half years ago when he was competing in that class.

YES, THE NATURALLY ASPIRATED MOTORS GET TO RUN NITRO RATHER THAN METHANOL.

Mme too! Boy was my 6.80 Lame! But,,,that was in 1984 with the only chevy.....5.200000 Woww Thanks Guys, you jump started my organs! I remember somewhat, back when we bracket raced in Super comp. We ran 4 identical runs of 6.84! In the finals I had an old man named Larry the Muffler Man Taylor. He rushed me to the beams while I tried to figure out a vibration that felt like a rod in the 526 rodeck. All through the burnout, my eyes were glued to the oil gauge. I backed up and staged with the constant thumping that I could feel in my chest. "It's only a bracket race, turn it off", I told myself. "Save the motor". I clicked the mag and bowed my head. Larry ran a single for the 250 buck win. The cause of the vibration:.......Small rock caught in the blower belt!!!!! Second place, the best finish for me and a Blown Alcohol Dragster named 'Rat Now'. The newspaper read,'Snail Becomes Worlds Fastest Bracket Racer at 6.84' and 'Rock Prevents Win'. RoCkrOll&Jerk smile_sp PS: this has been reduced in length for O.B.Canoby!!
