OK. I know this is a pretty silly idea, but I've been thinking about six-bangers in a v-drive for a year or so. That motor configuration is quite strong, and with turbos and injection you can get plenty of power from one of those funny things. What if someone put TWO six bangers in a flat or shallow V. I would envision them installed side-by-side, but reverse of each other...drive one from the front and one from the rear of the crank so that you can counter rotate the props. I guess this just takes the twin prop idea to the next level. Sure would be something to see.
Just thinking...

I like the fact that it gives so much more room. Those engines are strong too.

i really do like this idea!...it looks really cool also, and sure seems like it saves some weight over a BB engine...anyone know whos that is?

I asked about putting a rotary in a boat a few years ago. You should of heard the nay sayers. Check these videos:

That rotary deal is pretty darn impressive in that video. Lots of fab work but the install looks really clean. I dig it.

Agree, the rotary set-up is pretty impressive. Those little motors sure like to scream. Have had my share of RX-7's over the years.

I think this is pretty kick ass. Most people spend a bunch of money on either being different or trying to get to the norm with these boats. This guy is doing something way different....spending a lot less money....and we are all talking about it. You could put this boat next to a completely restored hydro with all the bells and whistles and more people would talk about this boat than the hydro. Those straight 6's had pretty good torque from what I understand...they used them in a lot of trucks and older farm equipment around indiana.

mabe a 4.2 inline from a chevy trailblazer, its got 275 h.p. stock. sounds good for a 6.

I liiiike it! Guy says 300" about 300 hp and prolly 300# of torque at 2500 rpm. If he's got the headers set up 180 degree I bet it sounds good too.

Those inline 6s are torque motors... I'm sure he can pull alot of gear at low RPMs.
