:( Yikes. Sad news. Something went horribly wrong. I read there were supposed to be a large group of Mustangs there this year.

Wow, that's radical looking!
I would have to say that the plane that has the wheels on the ground is most likely the survivor.

That is too bad and unfortunate for the pilot and his family. I really appreciate pilots that fly these vintage aircraft. The P-51 is my favorite aircraft too.

Very sad. Have always wanted to go to Oshkosh since work in the aircraft industry.

My wife was there when it happened.
She is flying back now as we speak. Landing short in NM due to weather. :(

Very sad news... Nothing like the sound of a P51 at full song..... it's music to my ears...

There was yet another tragedy today at an airshow in Dayton, Ohio
Jim LeRoy was the pilot killed http://www.bulldogairshows.com/v2/html_index.html

Jim LeRoy was the surviving member of the "Masters of Disaster".....an airshow trio that consisted of Jim, Bobby Younkin, and Jimmy Franklin. They flew an extreme show using pyrotechnics and also intergrated Kent Shockley's "Shockwave" jet powered truck into the act.
Jimmy Franklin flew a vintage Waco biplane with a jet engine hung underneath it. Booby Younkin flew a modified Pitts biplane with a 400 HP radial engine. Jim flew a Pitts S2S biplane. The Masters of Disaster were one of the best airshow teams to ever fly.
Jimmy and Bobby were killed in Moosejaw, Sasketchewan in July of 2005 when their aircraft collided during a show. Jim LeRoy vowed to continue flying, and Jimmy's son Kyle intended to resurrect the MOD along with Bobby's son Matt. I don't know the outcome of that.
It's really a shame that these fine pilots and showmen lost their lives. They were great entertainers. My condolences to the families of those affected.

God speed. I grew up in the mid-west. My Dad, Aunt, Uncle and cousins were all private pilots. My dad owned a Piper Saratoga SP Turbo, my Aunt and Uncle were flight instructors in Sedona and my cousin owned an AT-6 Texan and an Aerocoupe.
We used to go to the EAA Fly-in every year. Sorry to see this happen.
