I swear a week with no cell phone and work goes by way too fast. We got back late last night and clean up the trailer today. It was a nice vacation. Fishing, drinking, poker, dirt bike riding, family and friends, great weather and no work. I wish I could retire now! A week just isn't long enough. I will post some pics later of our trip. I haven't put them on the laptop yet.
Did I miss anything good on here?

Leaving for Powell next week, pretty much the same thing without having to tow a trailer. A week without the cell phone and all that madness is really priceless when it comes down to it. Where are the pics of the fish you caught ?!?

pics are great............
$3.95/gal hurts..........
the doggy head out the window pic is awesome-!.......
Jen is hot..
--The garbage dumpster pic has me wondering if only those little chains were
holding the lids down, and the round flip-up bar should have prevented the
bear(s) from bending those lids......... which is scary-strong BTW......

thanks for sharing.............

I will post some fish pics later. I caught stocker rainbows and a bunch of browns. I didn't get many fish pics though. Jen had the camera and I caught and released all week.

I may have forgot to clip it that night. The bar was over the lids though. Down a little further a bear also bent the thick bar to pry another one open.

Spoken like a true fisherman.
"I caught about 1000 fish, but just released them. I caught what must have been a record rainbow at 35" long and 75 pounds. Oh, and the pics, Jen had the camera and she was photographing our dog in the daisys." :D
Matt, I love these pics when you get back from this trip. I still remember last year witht he bears right outside your camper. Thanks for sharing them. It looks like an amazing place. Thanks again.

I knew I would catch hell for that statement. :D
There were plenty of bears this year too. One night I left some left overs on the table right in front of my window. I placed empty beer cans in a circle around the plate. When I heard the cans go over I turned on the light. Then you could get a good look at the bear through the window a few feet away. :)
I think next year I might get one of those motion cameras hunters put on trees. That would be cool to see how many come by while you are sleeping.

Lee Vining is just around the corner. There are some great little lakes to float tube. If you fly fish a black mosquito was working the best for me. The browns in Green Creek ate it up.
Surprisingly Virginia lakes was slow.
It still beats work though. :D

We usually have good luck at Lake Ellery, and kill them in Lee vining creek, we just walk the creek and wade in the current and BAM fish on.

Hey Matt,

Don't lie to these poor people... tell them that the place sucks, it was loud & crowded, polluted and there were no trees.
And most of the places in Norcal are like this....... the desert is definitely better.... ;) ;)

Yes we stayed at Mono Village. You can't make reservations. It's first come first served. Hook ups are hard to come by when we go but may be a lot easier in October. I would give them a call. We usually camp by the creek in the D area. We had such a big group this year we had to camp in the A area. It's dry camping but we ran the generator and they have a guy that can pump out your tanks on Tuesday and Thursday.
I have never stayed at the Lower Twins but it looks real nice.
