We are figuring out what kind of boat we need before deciding on a manufacturer. For our needs, we are looking for a small (but no smaller than 21') bowrider with stand-up pilot/co-pilot seats. It seems the break point for drop-out bolster seating is the twenty-five foot length. I see that Baja made a 23' Islander (now a 24') with stand-up seats; does any other manufacturer make something similarly compact?
I really like the Nordic Sprint, but in that hull a dropout bolster seat would stick out like a hardon in the shower ...

24' Laveycraft Nu Era is available with drop out bolsters. Feels much larger than a 24' and top notch quality.

This was a huge deal for me when I bought my last boat. I hate sitting down to drive. The following boats I know have drop Bolster seating because they were on my radar to buy. Powerquest 26 and up, Baja 25, Nordic doesnt do it until you get to the 28, Sunsation 25 and up has it but they dont make there 25 anymore so you can only get one used. It seems to me that more East Coast boats go with the dropout bolsters than west coast boats, I think its due to building taller hulls for bigger lakes/bigger water etc.

Wow. A very sexy boat, and I love that you can get it in a cuddy, mid-cuddy or open bow. This will be my first true high-performance boat, though, so I dunno about the stepped hull. I read horror stories about how they kill rookies such as myself without warning. I bet it feels larger than a 24' because it is 25.2 feet long, though I guess the running surface is only 24.
Thanx for the heads-up!

Nice boats! I wish Carrera's website had more pics, and more information generally. That 22' Twister would be sweet for our needs...

I suspect you are correct on this point; one of the reasons I like stand-up boats is the amount of freeboard they necessarily have.

Very few boats under 24 would be suitable for bolsters.
The new 23 Baja , 22 Donzi ZX , 24 Superboat ,Powerquest 23 , has the freeboard for this application. My boat is 24' excluding the swimgrid , has bolsters , but is suitable for bolsters with its deep cockpit & high freeboard .

The 25 Shockwave would probably be the best choice amongst the west coast style boats with bolsters.

Both the 22' and 25' Advantage Citations offer drop down bolsters.
