2.5t has a very flat powerband and is a joy to drive. The t5 (250 hp) is a bit peaky in the powerband but fun. Usually equiped t5 rides a bit stiff due to the very low profile tires and (usually)stiffer suspension. As the vehicle ages, you will notice the squeeks and rattles in the t5.
go for the (factory) extended service contract (VIP) well worth the investment if you plan on keeping the car past warranty.
goodluck

I'd go for the 2.5t, not as much horspower, but more useable powerband from what I remember (unless they redid some things). Also, check out IPD for cool aftermarket stuff. I had a C70 for 5 years and loved, very reliable with no drama at all. I think I had one $100 sensor go out in all the years I owned it.

Oh, and buy a used one. There are a ton of them out there for a reasonable price.

good point...check out many of the retailers out there have service loaners at a very big savings with only about <6k miles with plenty of warranty.(still invest in the vip service contract)
or check out the smokin deal they have now on new.
sign'n'drive offer with no money down(mfg lease)... sweet deals!. Pencil the numbers and you will see its a pretty good deal.
BTW, I have a s60r (300 hp AWD rocket) A little 'firm' riding but a fun-ride to chase down those fine bimmers:D
not 1 lick of problems-had a great dlr experience.

my folks have the S80, thing is big inside, rides like a dream and gets the fukk out of it's own way. I tried to talk them into a 5 Series from my buddy ;) but Mom couldn't wait she needed a car now and they weren't going to be back in So Cal for a couple of months, freaking women, can't live with them can't have them as your mother... :D :D

I had an S60 as a company car for almost 2 yrs. It was nice but I had plenty of trans problems (actually when through 2 transmissions). Granted, this was in 2001 and they may be better now. I had the 2.4 turbo.
Nice car for the money and have great styling.
Good luck.

Resale is absolutly terrible on these. I would lease it or buy a used 2006. Be sure to get a warranty. They are very safe cars.
There ya go:D

Viking? Yes they are....but I have a secret.....shhhh.....;) We hired Brian when they laid him off, so he is our master mechanic. Im sure he & Geza can take care of you for a heck of alot cheaper than their rates.;) They have been laying off good people over there....kinda sad.:(

Maybe I should start importing them from AZ : )
Seriously though, I would talk to someone in the biz. Volvo resale is pretty bad even in OC soccer mom heaven. At least compared to a Lexus or BMW. New Jags are the worst.

I had an 2003 V70, T5. Biggest piece of crap I've ever owned. Major electrical problems, leaking turbos, bulbs burning out monthly. Bought it for 42K, drove it 2 years and traded it in on a new Suburban for 12K. I was happy to just get rid of it.

The wife has had her Volvo C70 for 5 years now. Great car, powerful and most of all it feels safe and solid. We have had 1 sensor go out on it and that's about it besided normal maintenance. Good luck.
