Has anyone ever done a conversion from V-Drive to outboard power,I love the look of Sangers/Hallett/Hondo ETC. but my lake does not allow car engines so I am looking for a project, but could use advise from somone who has already been there. I run a Sanger barefoot outboard now but I have to have a Flatty!

Are they Communists? That is just crazy. Does it say you can't run a truck engine? If not then put a Diesel in it, then it will not only be fast and loud it will smoke like a proverbial furnace when you romp it. If no truck engines then put an airplane engine in it. Bound to be more than one way to do it without them winning.
