That stamped sheetmetal plate that is sandwiched between the timing cover and the passenger car engine waterpump is an anti-cavitation plate that works in conjunction with the passenger car's mechanical waterpump. You do not need it with your jet boat's waterpump block off plate...although it does not hurt anything by being there.
