Kenneth Chernow of Van Nuys, was arrested Thursday after he dropped off his computer for service at a Best Buy store in Burbank and a technician discovered child pornography on it, police said Monday.
Chernow was arrested on suspicion of possessing child pornography, according to police.
After the Best Buy technician reported finding the pornography, the LAPD's Computer Crimes Unit analyzed ChernowÂ’s computer and confirmed that several images of child pornography were on the machine, police said.
Chernow was arrested at his home in the 13500 block of Hart Street. Authorities obtained an additional search warrant and recovered more evidence.
No victims have been identified. Chernow was released on $20,000 bail.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to call Carlos Monterroso of the LAPDÂ’s Juvenile Division at (213) 485-4220 or (877) 529-3855 on evenings and weekends.

Surely everyone knows that if you take your computer to ANY tech and leave it, he will search your drive for all the porn he can find. Don't leave pics of your wife/gf on there if you don't want some zitty techie wacking off to her and/or posting for his buddies. Fortunately, this pedo retard didn't think it through...

I am a Directional Driller on oil rigs. Recently a Co-worker (another directional driller) left his lap top on the rig floor after doing his job. The roughnecks started screwing with it and found kiddie porn. They showed their driller, he showed the tool pusher, TP showed the company man, CM showed the sherriff.
Now the sick SOB is looking at 6-10 years or so. The point is this, if it is bad enough for a bunch of rig workers to blow the whistle, it must be BAD. This guy was Joe Normal in every way. Family, young kids, house and dog. Whatever gene it is that makes a sicko also makes him look normal in many cases it seems.
When it comes to children, I think EVERY precaution needs to be taken. Computer repair folks are a direct means of catching these wastes of life.
It should be policy and clearly posted that any computer left for repair may be searched for kiddie porn. With the number of guys that show up on that msn "to catch a predator" show it is obvious that drastic action is required. They line up in the drive sometimes! From all walks of life. Truly mind blowing.
