Carfax for boats (boatfax?)

Is there such a thing as a carfax for boats? I found a good deal on a boat but it is 500 miles away. I don't mind taking a ride to get it, but I don't want to spend sixteen hours on the road if boatfax exists. Never bought one so far away, so I never thought to ask until now. If it is a really stupid question, feel free to poke fun.
