Looking for a rectangle Palapa for the barbecue island and round one for the spa.
Anybody have any hookup or a place they have dealt with before?

I believe Badass38chevy (sp) imports that stuff by the container full. Do a search for posts from last summer.

I bought the thatching in a huge roll, think it was 52' and built my own custom shaped structure with lodge poles that are already treated....worked great for my application. None of the prefabbed sizes worked for me.

Chris at Bajapalapas.com is incredible, but not cheap. You get what you pay for and I love my 18' round palapa. I'll post pics later.

The bar is secured well with good footings and the poles are bolted to the bar....

nice!! where do you get that thatching at? and, any idea how much? I would like to put that around the border of my patio... to give it a hut type feel when you're under it.

I googled "thatched roofing" and found a local source....there's tons of them. And as others have said BadAss has an EBay store. Prices were all pretty close so I just drove 20 minutes and had it in one day locally.

Let's just say that there are palapas/kits and there are PALAPAS
Hard to grasp how big this thing is, but it is 18 feet in diameter  Just depends on what you are looking for and how much you can afford ...
