Couldn't stand to see her out in the cold any longer -
So - how do you get a 24 foot boat and trailer in a 20.5 foot garage
http://www.***boat.com/image_center/data/520/161-med.jpg
You tear the wall down in your kids room and really piss off your wife

Measure twice cut once

holy cow... oh my dog! I can't believe what I'm seeing! my wife will love this.. she's been talking about redoing the bedroom and my boat is too long for the garage! you're a genius... you may be single soon but still a genius!

Big Proppa

It was going to be $200 a month to store it in town - or $1,000 to put up one of those metal shade structures - or $40,000 for the garage I want - or $106.00 in materials and a days worth of labor, not to bad.
What's up Dilli - how you been

Well centerhill, lets just say Sunday is usually race day but my car didn't leave the garage :D :D
Boats dry though.

Way to go Bill!
In high school, my buddy's dad owned a Limo business and did the exact same thing to fit one of the cars in his garage. He built an ornate cabinet in the family room with the TV on top. When you opened the cabinet doors, you saw either the license plate or the tail lights. Our whole neigborhood got a good laugh from it, but it worked.
Back when the city was hassling me for having the two boats in the driveway, I ran the idea(the back of the boat would've been in my daughter's room!) by my other half. Like Deltarat's wife, she couldn't stop laughing. I took that as a no...

Slot - they wanted 650 to install a swing away tung - I will probably do that in the future and reframe the soffit - I could pull about 20" out of it when I do

When I was looking for a house I told my realtor I that I would be pefectly happy with a big garage that had a cot and a bathroom in it. She said, "Even if you could find that, you would never be able to sell it again."
"Ummm..why would I want to sell it? It's my dream house." Poor woman looked very confused. :crossx:
There must have been a mis-comunication somewhere (wife?) because, I did get a nice detatched garage, but somehow I also wound up with two extra empty bedrooms and a dinning room that never gets used? And a kitchen? Can't we just put a microwave and a hotplate in the garage?..What are all these extra rooms for honey? I'm still trying to figure out how to convert all this into usefull garage space.

I've often wondered if anyone has done this......now I know..
Had a neighbor that cut a hole in his garage door so the tongue would fit through.........when he sold the house he patched it up nicely.
Danagerous to walk in front of his garage with nearly 2 feet poking thru  :p my chin remembers it well :220v:

Hopefully your tires were inflated all the way when you measured the height, otherwise you may be in for a surprise later. :boxed:
I've got both of my jets in the basement of my house, my wife keeps looking at the space and wanting to use it for a home theatre room or work out room etc, but so far the boats are winning.

OR
"See how much my wife loves me?"

Sometimes you just have to pull the plug on an idea - this wasn't one of those times. Picked up the materials on Friday on the way home from work - and saturday we were off, plus it rained and I had nothing else to do - ya I should have planned alittle better but o'well it's all but drywalled now.

NICE job on the remodel Big Proppa. Now when you sell the house you can list covered boat storage as well !!!
Hell you can fire it up n cook Hot Dogs on the exhaust, or heat the bedroom.....LOL

It's really great having the spectra home and covered. I kinda got freaked out for awhile not knowing if it was still in storage at the river or not. Seems like I kept hearing about alot of problems down there over the past season or so.

Great Job!! If I was a kid I sure wouldn't mine having a bad ass jet boat back into the bedroom. I'd probably start wrenching on it. Hey least if you have to do any pump work you have plenty of bedroom lighting!!! :rollside: Right now I have to turn my boat sideways to make it fit in the garage. My fiance' gets a lil ticked off that there's no room for her dirt bikes! But at least the boat is in the garage, safe & sound. :)

what are these guys afraid of a couple 2x4's, a header, looks like you saved the drywall inside pretty well, move a few outlets DONE....and lets just say you had a change of heart ,a few hours, a couple beers ,2 sheet of drywall, and a couple more 2x4's its a no brainer. What you did was no big deal..I bought my first house a few years ago and done alot worse than that to it but now it looks great..multi talented is a good thing..Lets see the end results posted when done

You have the potential for a great "get out of bed alarm" there with the addition of a couple of removable panels behind the exhaust. If your son ever acts up or oversleeps, crank it.

"Do you love your jet boat this much?"
Yes! I took out a two door garage changed to one just to fit the jet. Then I knocked out the back wall and took half the laundry to fit my pump. Later my then wife divorced me claiming I loved the jet more than her. Sad. Bought a new house with a garage that fits the jet. Met a new wife who also likes the jet. Life is good. Yet she wanted a cruiser so now we have two. No way the cruiser fits. Life changes. Is it ever enough?
