I got a question. I have a 16' tahiti v-hull with a 12-jc pump I just rebuilt
with a A/B cut impeller and a loader grate. I am pushing 6800-7000 R.P.M
I dont have a gps and would like to know if someone could tell me about
how fast I am moveing.

Spend the $100 it is well worth it.

That sounds to me like you are spinning the hell outta that motor, and in a 16' hull, never the less a v-bottom! if it is loading properly,....you have quite a set swingin there!

What engine do you have in that thing? If that thing is actually hooking up that means you are making somewhere north of 900 HP. More like 950-1,000. It either makes alot of ponies or it's not hooking up. So what are you running, cause I don't think I would be running it in a 16' boat.

The motor is no where neer 800hp . its a bbc 427 ,merlin heads, 13:1, roller
.687in exh / 1.7 rockers. I run dull 650cfm dp's on a high rise with gas/alchoal mix. the pump sounds and feels to hook up.

Answer: When is the last time you were in a 16' V with near 1,000 hp?
It would have to be running somewhere over 95 and probably closer to 100.
I've been in a couple of 18' V's at better than 80 and they weren't the safest riding boats that's for sure.

Check out the Impeller/RPM chart I just reposted on the front page. It's extended impeller chart, look at page one of the thread to see the hp chart then get back to us.

Is your hull the same as this??? If so, keep it under 70 mph and live a long life. I had my BBC in this hull for a short time. It hooked at 80 mph and I left a trail in the seat a foot wide. The deep vee does not like coming down at speed!!!!!!!

I looked at the chart but Im not makeing that much power. I had this motor
in my truck and it would run 12 flats with ease. last year befor I rebult the pump the boat would run 63mph@5700rpm on a buddys gps hand held. it had a A cut impeller that seen better days . It now has a a/b cut

I ran one of those about two months ago out here. It was a single carb 95-100mph boat, so he said and he also said it was radared at 96mph last summer.
I was set up in lake/river trim (mufflers, seats and all the normal crap) running mid 70s @5k with a A impeller. I smoked him like a cheep cigar. He tried to tell me I was running over 100mph and then I showed him the GPS, 74mph.

Every time I go on that lake I am suprised I dont get kicked off. The boat is
so dam loud and the lake so big and quiet. The sheriff came by the dock
at the house one time in his turd of a boat but did not stop. I try not to run the boat too long and piss off other houses
