decided not to rebuild the apollo so im looking to buy another boat.
is this brand of boat a good choice? im looking for something along the lines of my apollo. i loved the way it drove and handled, especially in rough water (never driven any other type of jet boat so i cant really compare).
BUT if this boat would handle/ride better than mine then it'll give me that much more reason to buy it.
i contacted the dealer and he said he is sellin on consignment and the guy will not take anything less then 16,500 for it. seems damn steep to me. i replied back asking for full specs on the boat. now its all a matter of time.
Thanks guys,
William

Really steep, besides what constitutes a brand new boat? Are they going to give you a warranty or something? How long has the motor been sitting unused? Usually thats harder on them than running them.

Personally I wouldn't even care that it is a 1991. Just ask your self : is a brand new 18Ft. boat worth $16,500. I honestly don't know what a new 18 Ft. costs these days. It ia a pretty boat imho. What happen to yours???

If I remember right your boat was clean. Why don't you buy a new bare hull and switch everything over. Something like one of these. http://www.jetboatpartsplus.com/warhawkboats.html

doesn't matter what a new 18 would cost today, which would be about 30K, that boat is way over priced. About 8K too high. That is, after all, a Tahiti. Hardin built Tahiti's and Caribbean's along side one another back then. No difference between the two except the name tag.
If that guy get's 16.5 for that deal, I'm gonna have to get back in the boat biz.

You have all the hard parts, have you considered a new hull? They are not too far from you either. http://www.jetboatpartsplus.com/tx19jetboat.html

You'd be way better of buying my Hallett. It is turn key with a 530 horse BBF with a freshened Berk with all the tricks and went 78 MPH on GPS. Check the spam thread. I would take a Hallett over a Carribean any day.

never been in the water... is that 'cause it won't run? or stops frequently.. I bought a low mileage porche once and had it for 4 months the car spent 12 weeks in the shop... and the money is "steep" as everyone else has stated. I stay away from low mileage cars, and 35 year old virgins!
it is a pretty ride...

16k and only a single axel trailer. I think we should all call him to let him know his boat is only worth about 6 grand.

did you tell him you are 20? did you tell him you had your insurance check in your hot little hand? tell him you have cash! it does make a difference! by the way, bad accident with your previous boat...I thought for sure it had fallen off the trailer in a turn.... and indiana is quite a drive from Jackson... and always,... always get a test ride... offer $50 for the ride towards the price of the boat... but get a ride! and take a buddy... boat ramps are a great place to start an "unsolved mysteries" episode or csi depending on your point of view. :)

Holy Crap. Way over priced. $16,500. Someone is smoking some crack. You could get a killer used boat for that much. DAMN. The seller must be waiting for a sucker to come along and not in a real hurry to seel it.

you said you contacted the guy selling the boat and he said the seller wants 16k firm, lol, i think the guy selling the consigned boat wants 10k firm,
and the owner of the boat wants 6.5k firm, this is how used car salesmen got their bad rap, now its spilling over to used boat salesmen lol,
