Decided to have the motor dyno'ed. Hp was 622 at 5500 rpm and trq was 623 at 4600 rpm. Should have it in the boat by labor day. :)

It's pretty mild edelbrock heads 10:7-1 comp. Not sure on the came spec I'll have to find. I didn't get to go to the dyno had to work. My dad went and said it was pretty amazing to watch.

Large or small chambered Edelbrocks? Flat tops or dished pistons?
Congrats. Nice numbers. I take it the hp dropped off after 5500 rpm then?
That should some nice useable horsepower. Any idea on impeller cut yet?

It has the small chambers, dish pistons and yes it started droping. Should just be able to run an A imp.

That's my deal (up top anyway). I think my compression is only around 9.6:1 though. Did you have the block decked to raise compression some? Maybe a smaller dish on the pistons? Any head work or box stock? Did you buy the short block or have your previous block done? Am I asking enough questions?
My next motor will be a 521 too.
Thats what I was thinking too. The A should be about dead nuts. That oughta be a real nice combination. Should last a long time running at 5500 rpm too.
Again...........congrats Bailey

622@5500 should set you back in the seat pretty nice. May be time to move up an impeller size.
What shop dyno'd it?

Well that part suck's. Nice numbers though congrats. I have dyno'd I think 8 of my own engines. It still is thrilling to me. Now go put that Ford to good use.

The heads had work done, I started with a bare block and bought a stroker kit from Chp in L.A. The machine shop went threw everything to make it all work. Panella in stockton did the dyno.

Should just be able to run an A imp.
I would go with a A+ or AA (A2) MPD fully detailed impeller or whatever Jack recomends. With the torque that you are making you should be able to pull a big impeller to 5400.
BTW - Glad it is finally done !!!
