motors out

ok, so i pulled the motor to repair/replace mounts, and figure I will re wire since my wires are getting britle, a little cleaning and painting, (first time motor has ever been out) Am I missing any obvious "should-dos" while its out?
considering doing something to the bilge area, any ideas?

install drain plug extention.
check stringers for rot around the bolt holes.
take it down to the machine shop for a blower or turbos. :D
