Decided to try swapping gears to gain RPM.
I know.....
about using a garbage bag to catch the oil.
Long bolts and short bolts in the front case and fine/coarse bolts.
Shimming the gear for lash----.008 +/-
Other than that, what else is involved in a gear swap?
I have a few gear pullers and a press.
Be good, Jim

Make sure you have the right BEARING puller, small but very efficient tool to do the job right. Any old puller won't do. I believe superdave or Rex Marine sell the one you need. Shouldn't need gear pullers as the gears should slide off the splines easily. Keep track of which spacers go where..? Assuming we are talking Casale, right..good luck....
