Well today I had to say goodbye to my beautiful loving wife, my best friend, this was the hardest thing i have ever had to do in my life,without a doubt, I will miss her tremendously, over the next several months, Windy is my wife, The best thing that has ever happened to me in my life, hands down with out a doubt.Im not sure how I will sleep at night not having her next to me, but I am going to do the best I can, I know that in her heart she feels the same, as she was getting on the plane today she texted me to say " that she already missed me soo much it hurt, and that she is already counting the days till we see each other again, which i can tell you cant come soon enough for me, since we have been together windy and I have spent very little time apart from each other, I could not stop crying all the way home.as for her daughter her heart is also very heavy and she to already misses her mom. today and until my lovely wife returns home from Kuwait, I will need to find the strength of all of our love for each other to keep things together at home, take care of her daughter, and become the best step dad that i can be, and to help the both of them,from afar and at home, to get through this tough journey. IM not sure but I think this is what is called being a "man", a " husband" a "father". no matter what, this will be the most challenging task I will ever do. Thanks to all of you for your support. My BFF who got mobilized with me and I arrived in Virginia at 2 am monday morning. Both of our planes sat on the tarmack in Chicago for over an hour. We didnt get checked into our barracks til after 3 am, and we had to get up at 6 am to muster at 7 am. We are jet lagged and still stuck on Cali time, so it felt like we closed our eyes for 5 minutes and the alarm is going off. The Navy base here in Norfolk is HUGE. I thought I was gonna die when I left the barracks this morning and the humidity hit us. I been to NY and Florida, but the humidity here is the worst I ever been in. This morning we had nothing but briefings, and then the Chaplin came in and prayed for us. We have 403 sailors going on this deployment. It was a long day to get everybody through all the first day of processing. I got fitted for my BDU's {battle dress uniform} and body armour. We were done by 4 pm. Tomorrow should be a little more laxed than today. :)
HavasuLuver...thanks again for turning me on to Vonage...Bobby also got us webcams and an aircard for my laptop. Seeing and talking to him and my daughter will be my lifeline. :D

Be prepared, just when you are in the norm of communication with Bobby and family members there will be great lengths of darkness as the blackouts (no phone or internet) may last a few hours to several days at least in Iraq (Baghdad). I have learned to accept these times and look forward to hearing the phone ring.....;) I am grateful everyday that I do NOT see the Grimm Reaper in Class A uniforms at my front door. God Bless YOU and our Men & Women in Uniform.

Negative...Im a class 1...class 1 is the best condition...class 2 is ok to mobilize...class 3 or 4 means you cant be mobilized. This is the Navy...not the Army. :)

so today windy is in medical , and she will be getting several anti disease shots, hope she wont get sick from all that stuff .

I processed through medical today...I got five shots in my right arm...
Hep A & B
Tetnus
Typhoid
Anthrax
I got a small pox vaccine in my left arm. This one is crazy. I have bandages I will have to change over the next week. I will also have to take Motrin and Claritin. This one will end up leaving a scar the size of a dime on my arm.
Tomorrow I have an audiogram appointment to test my hearing. I will get another one when I come back here to demobilize to see if there was any changes in my hearing while in Kuwait.
We havent started PT {physical training} yet because its been record breaking temps here with a really high heat index, so PT has been black flagged. We are expecting to start on friday though unless it is black flagged.
It hasnt been too bad here. We start at 0700 and we are done by 1600. The rest of the day is to ourselves. Adjusting to the humidity has been the hardest part. I have a nice room to myself and every nite I get to see and talk to my husband and my daughter.
Next week will be our last week in Norfolk, then we go to Williamsberg...there are training begins and the fun ends.
I miss everybody dearly...I miss the lake...but most of all I miss my husband and my daughter.
